My Role

UX Researcher

 Designer

Goal:

Finding a topic that I can find 100 data points that then fit into 7 meta data tags.

Overview:

I chose the topic of the most valuable comics. I then figured out what 7 categories that these can fit into. Those categories include: Age of the comic, year it was published, the name, the company behind the comics, the hero on the comic, and lastly the top sale price and the price it originally sold for.

Initial Wireframe:

I initially wanted to have a carousel of the images with a button that leads to the data visualization.

Wireframe v1:

I noticed however that I was running into a problem with the time I had to finish and I had to adjust my plan. I also got some feedback from peers and took those into account.

I also wanted the graph to stand out more and started to access my design some more.

Wireframe v2:

For the second version, I wanted to make it look and feel more like a website. However, I did not like the look of the filter buttons and they were confusing to some of the users I showed this to.

For the graphs, I organized it by era so there was a more noticeable shift within the data. I also wanted there to be a way for the user to know what data they were looking at, so I adjusted the colors for DC and Marvel.

Final Wireframe:

For the last version I got some solid feedback and wanted to improve the look and feel of the website. I also wanted to fix the filtering and add the number of comics being shown.
